CNHC – Core Curriculum

A House of Lords report in 1999 and the Governments response in March 2001 initiated a process of voluntary self-regulation for Reiki and other CAM therapies:

With the progression of Complementary Therapies in conventional medicine, there are now some medical establishments looking to work with Reiki Council/CNHC accredited practitioners/therapists. These practitioners/therapists will have completed the Reiki Council verification process.

A core curriculum for the teaching of Reiki to the standard required for the giving of Reiki in a professional setting forms the basis of the verification process.  

This verification process is in line with the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Reiki.
As stated above the CNHC Core Curriculum for the teaching of Reiki as a professional practice is based on the NOS for Reiki

This Verification process is in place to ensure that Professional Practitioners are experienced in the way of giving Reiki in a professional medical setting.

It is the professional manner and approach that is being observed during the process.

It must be noted that it is not Reiki that is being self-regulated, rather the way in which it is given.

Being an founder of the Reiki Council, TRC offer the Reiki Council Practitioner Verification Process to TRC members and non members.

For many Reiki Practitioners things will not change, it is only those practitioners wish to give Reiki in a professional setting who may find that the Verification Certificate is required.

With TRC being a founder member of the Reiki Council, Jeanne worked on the National Occupational Standards which were issued by Skills for Health and Core Curriculum issued by CNHC.

Also Jeanne represents Reiki on the CNHC Reiki PSB (Profession Specific Board)
